Distrito Appnimal 1.0.21

Distrito Appnimal is the first mobile application by the District Government of Bogotá, developed with the support of MinTIC and Colciencias. This platform encourages citizens of the Capital District to actively participate in the challenge of improving the conditions of companion animals in need or support. Users can engage in activities such as adoptions, donations, and volunteering for pet care programs. Moreover, it facilitates managing lost/found animals through a citizen-based support network. The system helps in identifying certified service providers recognized by the District Institute for Animal Protection and Welfare (IDPYBA) and features a section where users can access information about events, news, regulations, and suggestions.

The solution comprises the following modules:

• Comunidad Zoolidaria: Provides users with all necessary information to volunteer, become a foster home, sponsor an animal (adopt without taking home), and facilitate adoptions and/or donations.
• Animales Perdidos y Encontrados: Allows users to register their lost pets for quick retrieval and also register found animals to help reunite them with their owners.
• ZooAPPrendiendo: Enables users to receive educational content on regulations, animal behavior, and animal health.
• Prestadores de servicios Zoolidarios: A platform for professional service providers (caregivers, walkers, veterinarians, trainers) to offer reliable assistance tailored to pet owners' needs. These professionals must meet the requirements set by IDPYBA, including specific training courses or necessary documentation.
• Eventos, Noticias y Convocatorias IDPYBA: Provides users with organized and timely information about IDPYBA events, campaigns, along with images, texts, and dates. Users can add these events to their device calendar and share them on social media for increased visibility.

Furthermore, users can access volunteer service participation opportunities and apply if interested in becoming a volunteer.
